One of Australia’s most successful civil contractors has a unique opportunity to take up a new role as their Design Manager with a focusing on interfacing between the design consultants, Project Managers and client. Projects include: road / bridge, rail, water treatment and mining infrastructure. Last year they turned over more than $700 M and this will continue to grow through 2012 & 2013.

While reporting to the General Manager you will assist the team of Project Managers with implementing and maintaining design management procedures for all projects from planning right through to completion and handover. During this time ensuring that the company’s objectives are met during construction. Projects vary in size they now have a focus on LNG work in central QLD.

As Design Manager you will also be responsible for:

• Business Development

• Verification & validation of design outputs

• Managing front end designs for tenders

• Appoint and manage outside consultants where required for ECI contracts

This role will suit a hard-working industry professional with extensive design experience on medium to large scale projects. Local experience and contacts need to accompany superior communication and time management skills. The successful applicant will be commercially astute and experienced with design management.
