Mechanical Project Engineer

This privately owned heavy industrial contractor has been in Central Queensland for over 10 years and is a fabrication and site erection business for structural steel, piping and mechanical projects. They have built a reputation locally through their involvement in local mining, industrial and heavy engineering projects with a strong focus on coal preparation plants.

They have won awards for the quality of their projects and their high levels of safety. They pride themselves on first class project delivery and a flat management structure which allows for staff input and development.

Currently they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to be based on a project in Mackay responsible for the management of onsite costs, preparation of variations, progress claims and internal job reporting, including forecasts and project status reports.

The ideal applicant will hold a bachelor of mechanical engineering and will also have solid site based experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in a fabrication workshop environment and/or out on site for structural steel erection on mining and heavy industrial projects. Experience on coal projects would be particularily advantageous. The person will also be enthusiastic and willing to expand on their existing knowledge of fabrication, mechanical and structural steel project engineering experience.
