This organisation is the largest high profile specialist contractor with current works in excess of $2 billion in the mechanical, structural, electrical and minerals processing markets. They have experienced significant growth throughout Australia and within the construction industry in Central Queensland and are looking to secure long term staffing teams to service current and upcoming project requirements.

 

As an organisation they are involved in Coal Handling Marine Facilities, Plant Expansions and Heavy Industrial projects throughout Queensland and have a solid reputation for winning the industries most sought after projects.

 

Currently they are looking for a Major Projects Manager for the Queensland region. In this senior role you will be reporting to the Regional Operations Manager.

 

You will be responsible for the contractual and commercial aspects of major projects throughout Queensland. You should also have the interpersonal skills to motivate teams and provide ongoing industrial relations advice. You will developing solid client relationships, building your own project teams, identifying risk management strategies and planning, leading and executing major projects. This role will be Brisbane based with regular travel to your project sites.

 

To be successful for this senior role your skill set will include a solid background in materials handling, plant upgrades, maintenance and shutdowns and oil and gas projects in a similar industry. This is a structural mechanical construction contractor so this industry background would be advantageous. You should also have strong contractual knowledge, financial knowledge and ability to manage estimates and budgets. This role requires the capacity to manage the engineering aspects of the project therefore a degree in engineering is desirable.
